On July 18, 1984 he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Ancona. From July to November 1984 he attended the Ophthalmology Clinic as a volunteer doctor. In the academic year 1984/85 enrolled in the first year of the School of Specialization in Ophthalmology University of Ancona and has attended, as a specialization, the Clinic Ophthalmology Directed by Prof. Rolando Tittarelli, where on 25/10/1989 he obtained the Specialization in Ophthalmology reporting the vote of 50/50 and Lode. From 1 October 1986 to 30 March 1987, Prof. Cesare Mariotti attended the Retinal Department of the Moorfields Eye Hospital of London directed by Prof. P.K. Leaver, making a theoretical-practical training. In 1989 he was awarded the prize of the Italian Laser Society in Ophthalmology and in 1991 of the scholarship of the Tosco-Umbro-Emiliano-Marchigiana Society of Ophthalmology for the study: "Macular pucker": histological examination and therapeutic address ". In 1993 he was awarded the gold medal of the Tosco-Umbro-Emiliano Marchigiana Society of Ophthalmology for work: "Macular pucker". In the AA. 1991/92, 1992/93, 1993/94 he held the Ph.D. in Neurological Sciences and Neuro-sensory at the University of Ancona on the theme: "New buffering media in Vitreo-Retinica surgery ", with activities of both surgical practice and updating within the said pathology, supporting the final thesis in October 1995. In the same year, while attending the Ophthalmology Clinic of the University of Ancona, he stipulated a surgical consultancy contract at the Division of Ophthalmology Hospital of Jesi, USL n. 5, for educational purposes, for the updating and improvement of the personnel in charge of the aforementioned Division. From 16/6/1997 to 16/08/1998 he worked at "Umberto I" Hospital, in quality of Medical Director of I level specialist in Ophthalmology, in service at the Clinic Ophthalmology of the University of Ancona (Director Prof. Rolando Tittarelli). From 17/08/1998 to 12/31/2003 he served at the Institute of Ophthalmological Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of the Studies of Ancona, as Researcher in the scientific disciplinary sector n F14X (Diseases Visual System), also carrying out care activities at the Ophthalmology Clinic, affiliated with the "Umberto I" Hospital of Ancona. From 1/1/2004 to today Professor Cesare Mariotti holds the status of Associate Professor of II disciplinary scientific sector band MED / 30 DISEASES VISUAL APPARATUS, at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Ancona. From 1/1/2007 Appointment of "IPAS" - Professional assignment of high specialization; called: vitreo-retinal and diabetic pathologies at the University Hospital "Ospedali Riuniti".
