Prof Remzi AVCI is the head and founder of Retina Eye Hospital Bursa-Turkey. He graduated from Uludag University Faculty of Medicine in 1986. After the residency period of ophthalmology at the Uludag University, he worked with Prof A.F Deutman in Nijmegen University for two years and completed his clinical fellowship in Vitreoretinal diseases. Then he founded Vitreoretinal Surgery Unit at the department ophthalmology in Uludag University Medical School; and he worked at the same clinic for 25 years. He was assigned as a professor in 2002 and he still works in the field of vitreoretinal surgery and medical retina in Retina Eye Hospital Bursa-Turkey. He has served as invited speaker on vitreoretinal surgery in international meetings. He is a member of many national and international societies including ASRS, AAO, Euretina and the Club Jules Gonin.
